A representative of Marco Asensio has told Sport Mediaset that Arsenal and AC Milan have made the Real Madrid star offers to leave his La Liga home in the summer transfer market.

The Spaniard will enter the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season. Los Blancos are, therefore, now giving thought to what future the 26-year-old has at the club. But Asensio is still to decide where he wants to play his football next term.

Milan’s interest in his situation is a source of pride for Asensio, though, and his agent met the Serie A side in recent days, as well. The Rossoneri have sought to seek information on his potential availability, with Stefano Pioli keen to build his Italian top-flight leading ranks.

It was the first time that AC Milan formally met Asensio’s representatives, as they made a ‘serious proposal’. But the 26-cap international wishes to wait until the end of the season before deciding his future following a further meeting his Real president Fiorentino Perez.

The Galacticos have made Asensio an offer to extend his contract at the same €5m-a-year (£80k-a/w) salary. But if he snubs the deal, they will look to cash in at €25-30m (£21-25m).

Marco Asensio has offers ‘including Arsenal’ to leave Real Madrid, agent claims

Asensio may look to leave Real Madrid amid transfer offers from Arsenal and AC Milan to regain his place in Spain’s national side. He has not represented La Roja since 2020 and he has not been a mainstay of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at the Bernabeu so far this term, either.

The Mallorca native has only started 15 of his 25 La Liga appearances, yet has scored eight goals to date. He has also fired once in the Champions League over six games ahead of Los Blancos facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their quarter-final first-leg on Wednesday.

If his efforts still lead to a move away this summer, Milan may feel confident of a deal. As Arsenal seem to have ground to make up judging by the claims made by Asensio’s agent:

“Milan’s interest is a pride. A future in Milan is an option, there are also offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal. We are ready to evaluate every possibility.”
