Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after they heard that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had suffered an injury while on international duty with Denmark.
What’s the story?
Well, after Oliver Skipp picked up a one-game suspension for five yellow cards, this is not ideal news for Antonio Conte.
Ekstra Bladet reveal that Hojbjerg will miss Denmark’s World Cup qualifying match against the Faroe Islands on Friday.
The injury is not specified, although Kasper Hjulmand has already called up Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrøm as a replacement.
Despite that, Ekstra Bladet believe Denmark hope to have Hojbjerg back in time for the clash with Scotland next week.
Conte will surely be keeping a close eye on the situation, as he will not want to lose the £15m man for a long period of time given his importance.
Tottenham should try to recall Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Denmark are effectively playing two friendly matches over the international break, as they have already secured qualification for the World Cup.
They don’t need Hojbjerg, and there’s no point whatsoever in risking his fitness to play a dead rubber against Scotland.
In fact, it’s surprising that Hjulmand hasn’t already sent the £101,923-a-week man back to Hotspur Way for treatment.

If Hojbjerg features against Scotland and does even more damage to himself, Spurs and Conte should be furious.
In truth, Tottenham probably shouldn’t have let him go anyway, seeing as Denmark have already qualified for the World Cup.
For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the situation…
