The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s contract is close to expiring.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea at Wembley tomorrow, and responded when asked whether Mousa Dembele will leave for China this month, as quoted by Football.London.
Belgian media outlet HLN claimed last week that Chinese club Beijing Guoan were lignin up a mega contract offer for the Spurs midfield this month.
Dembele, 31, joined Tottenham from Fulham in the summer of 2012, for a fee believed to be worth £15 million, and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the club’s most important players.
His contract is due to expire in the summer, however, and it is growing ever more likely that he will leave north London either this month or at the end of the season.
Pochettino spoke to reporters today, and admitted that he is prepared to listen to offers for the Belgium international this month, as quoted by Football.London:

“I’ve heard nothing yet. I know like you there are a lot of rumours. If something arrives we are going to listen and then it’s what we want to do or the player wants to do, it’s about to negotiate, talk, like always it happens in that business.”
Dembele is currently out injured, and Tottenham youngster Harry Winks has proven to be more than an able bodied replacement for him.
Whether Pochettino will dip into the transfer market to find a long-term replacement for the 31-year-old, however, remains to be seen.
