The Reds’ Sporting Director will be stepping down and this is a massive moment for the Merseyside club.
Edwards may not get as many plaudits as Jurgen Klopp, but he’s just as important as the German in terms of the club’s recent success.
Edwards is the man behind some of the best transfers the Anfield outfit have ever made. He brought the likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker to the club, while he was also savvy when it came to selling players, receiving a record-fee for Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.
To put it bluntly, Edwards was the master of his craft and without him, Liverpool probably wouldn’t have been so successful in recent years.
