Fabio Paratici is a popular figure among Tottenham Hotspur supporters.

He didn’t oversee a magnificent transfer window last summer, if we’re honest.

But what the Italian guru did do was convince Antonio Conte to become Tottenham manager.

And even if Paratici does nothing else spectacular for the entire time he’s at the Lilywhites, that looks to have been a masterstroke of an appointment.

However, considering he is Spurs’ main man with regards to incomings and outgoings, the supporters are very upset with one transfer development from North London.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham have decided to sell highly-rated Hotspur Way graduate Dilan Markanday.

The 20-year-old is reportedly on the verge of signing for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, on a perrmanent basis.

With Markanday being one of their own, Spurs supporters would hate to see him go – but especially for the £500,000 that’s been reported right now.

Here’s how some of the fanbase reacted to the potential departure:

Understandable

The anger is certainly justified.

Markanday is one of the brightest prospects coming through at Tottenham and is the second-leading goalscorer in the Premier League 2 this season.

The youngster only has six months to go on his contract and it remains to be seen whether he’s been offered a new one.

Markanday almost certainly has an offer from Spurs to stay but is potentially looking forward to senior football for the first time in his career.

But if the Lilywhites have offered him a new deal and feel compelled to sell on the basis that the starlet wants out, then the North Londoners are still at fault for allowing him to come within six months of losing him on a Bosman.

Either way, you have to say that Tottenham orchestrated their own downfall here.
