And Tottenham fans admit that they are already concerned that Mourinho may well be out for revenge in the tournament.
Tottenham still have not found their replacement for Mourinho since parting ways with him weeks ago.
Spurs actually parted company with Mourinho before he even got the chance to manage in the League Cup final, which must rankle with the Portuguese boss somewhat.
If he is to topple Spurs in the Conference League next season, he will likely need to be more successful than he was with Tottenham in Europe.
Roma and Tottenham will be high seeds in the competition, meaning they cannot meet until the latter stages.
When with Spurs, Mourinho saw his side knocked out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb in embarrassing circumstances, with that result being one of the contributing factors in his downfall.
