West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed that a deal for Kurt Zouma is unlikely.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that West Ham had made contact with Chelsea in regards to a swoop for Zouma, who cost the Blues £12m.
In a boost to the Hammers, the Frenchman told Chelsea he didn’t want to move to Sevilla as part of a player-plus-cash move for Jules Kounde.
However, that boost now seems irrelevant, as Sheth believes the 8-cap France international will not be moving to the London Stadium.
West Ham are £4m apart from Chelsea in terms of valuation, while the Sky Sports reporter adds that personal terms are also an issue.
Not the summer West Ham needed
After finishing sixth, it would’ve been nice to see David Moyes backed heavily with some significant arrivals.
West Ham find themselves in the Europa League this season, and as things stand, their squad doesn’t have enough depth in every area.
If Michail Antonio were to get injured, Moyes wouldn’t have a striker. Also, after Fabian Balbuena left, another centre-back wouldn’t go amiss.
However, David Gold, David Sullivan and Karren Brady have only allowed Moyes to add Alphonse Areola to his squad, in a loan move from Paris Saint-Germain.
It’s not really been good enough, in all honesty.
