Forster spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Celtic from Premier League outfit Southampton.
The 32-year-old England international goalkeeper was superb for Neil Lennon’s side and played an important role in the Glasgow giants winning the Scottish Premiership title.
Celtic boss Lennon told Sky Sports earlier this month although the Bhoys had an agreement in place with Southampton, Forster is not keen on making another loan move.
Forrest has raved about about former Celtic teammate, and hopes that the ex-Newcastle United prospect is back at the club for next season.
Forrest told The Daily Record about Forster: “Everyone is hoping Fraser comes back. I played with Fraser before and then last season he came back and did tremendous.
“We just need to wait and see over the next couple of weeks to see what he decides but we all want him back.”

Good signing for Celtic?
Forster is a very good goalkeeper and would be a brilliant signing for Celtic, who desperately need to sign a player in that position.
With Craig Gordon having already left this summer, Scott Bain is the only senior goalkeeper in Lennon’s first-team squad.
Meanwhile, The Daily Record has reported that 22-year-old goalkeeper Ross Doohan will leave Celtic and join Ross County on loan in the summer transfer window.
