You have to feel sorry for Arsenal defender Jordi Osei-Tutu.

The 23-year-old returned to London Colney for treatment on a hamstring injury he sustained whilst on loan at Nottingham Forest earlier in the campaign.

On that occasion, the Arsenal right-back wound up missing 19 Championship games for Steve Cooper’s outfit.

And now, Osei-Tutu, who came through the Gunners’ academy, has picked up another injury since returning to Forest.

Cooper confirmed on Thursday that Osei-Tutu, in his second game since returning from his earlier problem, will now be missing for a further two months after picking up an injury against Hull City last time around.

He said: “Two months injury. It’s really, really disappointing for the boy, (it was an) innocuous challenge as we all saw. He was playing really well in the game. I just feel sorry for him, a young player that’s trying to forge a career.”

Contract

The good news for Arsenal is, he still has 18 months left on his contract.

If he was out of contract this summer, the North Londoners could hardly justify a new deal due to a worryingly series of injuries.

And they couldn’t sell him for much either in January because, well, he’s injured again.

But with one year left on his deal come next summer, Osei-Tutu is good enough and young enough to have a strong end to the Championship campaign with Forest and earn a permanent move, or get another good loan next summer.

As far as his Arsenal career goes, well it’s unlikely that he’ll salvage it at this point.
