Harry Winks has shared that Antonio Conte is ‘very passionate’ in Tottenham training, as he told talkSPORT.

The Tottenham midfielder added that Conte made it clear to the players that he wants ‘us all to get fitter’ and they ‘all agree’ with him.

Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League under Conte and his aggressive natured style is already being shown out on the pitch with the team’s performances.

That was proven when they recorded a 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday and they set the tempo of the game against arguably one of the best teams in Europe right now.

Winks has been able to spend a little over a month in the company of his new coach and he shared what he is like around Hotspur Way.

“He’s very passionate,” said Winks. “He’s very clear in what he wants. He is clear in trying to get us all fitter, which is something we all agree, buy into and work hard to get to.

“Everybody is working really hard in training. Everybody is committing themselves to improve each other individually and as a team.

“Everybody has brought into the manager’s philosophy and style. We really hope that if we keep improving, then we can be a top side.

“His passion, before a game, at half-time, in meetings, whatever it is, he’s very, very clear that he just loves football and he wants everybody to be on the same sort of level as him.”

Winks will be hoping to be one of the players to benefit from Conte’s arrival and he is one of the players that probably needs it most.

Not so long ago, he was putting on the Three Lions shirt and helping England to one of their most famous victories when they beat Spain in the UEFA Nations League.

But it has been a downward spiral since then for Winks, who with just under a year left until the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, will feel he can still make a charge into Gareth Southgate’s plans.

Not only does he need to produce the goods on a regular basis, but the competition in the middle of the park is far stronger now compared to the last time he was at St George’s Park.

One of those players who he will struggle to get past now is England’s defensive rock, Declan Rice, who he will face tonight in the League Cup quarter-finals.
