Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are purring over new footage of Bryan Gil.

The Spanish winger joined Spurs this past summer in a part-exchange deal which saw Erik Lamela move to Sevilla.

Having played literally just two minutes in the Premier League from Tottenham’s first three games, little is known yet about what the 20-year-old can bring to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

But based on last night’s footage, he could be a very useful asset in the long term.

Spain Under-21s hammered Russia 4-1 and Gil was among the stars of the show.

One piece of footage of the young winger’s skill has caught a bit of traction on social media, with Gil channeling his inner Dennis Bergkamp to pull off a sublime piece of magic.

Here’s how Tottenham fans are reacting to it:

Adaptation

It could be difficult for Gil to break into Nuno’s first XI this season.

With Harry Kane staying, Son Heung-min might be used out wide and with Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura both enjoying solid starts to the campaign, Gil will struggle for regular football.

Having said that, this is only a 20-year-old kid and one will need time before he’s fully adapted.

It isn’t only a case of needing to get used to football in England, which is quicker and rougher than Spain by all accounts, but there’s an adaptation period required for his personal life too, his life away from Hotspur Way.
