The Baggies interim manager won all three of the Championship games he oversaw in March after Darren Moore’s exit.

The EFL has announced that West Bromwich Albion interim boss James Shan is one of the four nominees for March’s Championship Manager of the Month award.
Shan was handed the Baggies reins after the club decided to part company with Darren Moore on 9 March, and enjoyed a bright start to his first-team tenure.
First up was the 3-0 hammering of Swansea City at the Hawthorns on Wednesday 13 March, then Brentford were seen off by a 1-0 scoreline at Griffin Park on the Saturday.
Albion then beat West Midlands rivals Birmingham City 3-2 at home on Friday 29 March to ensure Shan got to the end of the month with a 100 percent record.
The winner will be announced on Friday morning, with Daniel Farke of Norwich City, Jose Gomes of Reading and Dean Smith of Aston Villa also in the running.
Given Shan’s April has not gone quite so smoothly, with two damaging defeats out of two fixtures played this month, the nomination seemed to have surprised some Baggies fans.

Some others, meanwhile, thought the 40-year-old is worthy of the nomination – perhaps even an honour of the kind awarded by royalty – given the big job he has at hand.
Here is how some West Brom faithful reacted to the news on Twitter after the club’s feed posted the update:
