The Baggies midfielder’s early mistake led to the Robins’ first goal in Tuesday’s Championship game.

West Bromwich Albion had a day to forget on Tuesday as their outside hopes of a Championship top-two place were effectively killed off thanks to a 3-2 loss at Bristol City.
The Robins, themselves hoping to seal a playoff place, ran riot in the opening 20 minutes against the Baggies with goals from Josh Brownhill, Andi Weimann and Jack Hunt.
James Shan’s side rallied round in the second half as Dwight Gayle headed home shortly after the restart and Jay Rodriguez netted on 74 minutes.
However, it proved too little too late as City held on to go up to fifth in the table, while Albion, whose loss was their second in four days, are now nine points behind second-placed Leeds.
Midfielder Jake Livermore had a bad game at Ashton Gate as he lost the ball in the middle of the park while under pressure, which in turn led to the hosts’ first goal and effectively set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Here is how some West Brom fans reacted on Twitter to the Tony Pulis signing‘s display during and after the game:
