The Bees defender admitted spitting “in the proximity” of Baggies fans in their Championship clash at Griffin Park in March.

Brentford defender Julian Jeanvier will face no action from the Football Association despite admitting to spitting “in the proximity” of West Bromwich Albion fans during their Championship clash on 16 March.
The Bees announced in a statement on Monday that that they made it clear to their player that such behaviour is unacceptable and added that the matter was dealt with internally and is now considered closed.
Jeanvier requested that the club publish an apology, which was done so within their statement, but after providing video evidence to the FA, the 26-year-old will face no further punishment.
West Brom went to Griffin Park and ran out 1-0 winners over Brentford, with Kyle Edwards netting the winner, but visiting fans complained about Jeanvier’s response to verbal abuse after his momentum carried him off the pitch in the closing stages.
After the news came out, some West Brom fans took to Twitter to voice their dismay, a couple juxtaposing the Jeanvier incident with Dwight Gayle getting a two-match ban earlier in the season for simulation:
West Brom currently sit fourth in the Championship table on 67 points, seven behind second-placed Sheffield United with eight league fixtures to go.
