Leeds need a striker to rival Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

Angers' French forward Enzo Crivelli (L) heads the ball during the French L1 football match between Nantes and Angers at Beaujoire Stadium in Nantes, western France, on December 17, 2017.

Angers striker Enzo Crivelli is reportedly interesting Championship trio Wolverhampton Wanderers, Cardiff City and Aston Villa this month, but surely he would be perfect for Leeds United?

Major French newspaper L’Equipe claim the 22-year-old’s future is under consideration with Ligue 1 side Angers, after scoring just one goal for the club in 15 league games following his summer move from Bordeaux.

The five-time France Under-21 international will feel slightly hard done by, though. He has started just 12 of those matches, missing seven of Angers Ligue 1 outings. He has also been substituted in seven of those 12.

Renowned for his strength and aerial prowess that allows him to not only prove a danger in the penalty area, bur Crivelli is just as important at bringing attacking midfielders into play.

The signing of Crivelli at Elland Road, who is also interesting Ligue 1 side Rennes, would bring the best out of the likes of Ezgjan Alioski, Samu Saiz, Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Pawel Cibicki, as his hold-up play is second to none.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored twice during the 4-3 loss to Millwall but the German striker has hardly impressed since completing a loan move to Elland Road. With Caleb Ekuban sidelined, the Hamburg striker needs competition.

That should convince director of football Victor Orta to try his luck by rivalling the trio of Championship heavyweights and Rennes in the race to land Crivelli.

It remains to be seen how much he would cost the Yorkshire giants, with his contract set to run until the summer of 2021. However, if Leeds can land him on a loan-to-buy deal, they can consider signing him permanently after watching him at first hand.

He could be the difference between another season in the Championship, or promotion to the Premier League.
