Everton boss Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he wants to have clear-out at Goodison Park this summer.

Wayne Rooney has told the Liverpool Echo that Everton would be best off sticking by Sam Allardyce, but he may be better off with a change of manager.

Rooney has suggested that everyone at Goodison Park wants stability, and that Allardyce should remain in charge.

He said to the Liverpool Echo: “I think that’s what everybody wants.

“Obviously it’s tough having three managers in one season, that’s not the normal situation that you face.

“I think the club, we all want stability and I’m sure the owners will do that.”

However, by making such comments, Rooney actually may be doing himself very little favours.

Allardyce has failed to get the best out of Rooney since taking charge, with experienced England international not scoring at all in 2018.

Allardyce has already confirmed that he will be having a clear-out at Everton in the summer.

And the Guardian suggest that Rooney is one of the players who could be put up for sale, if Allardyce remains in charge.

It means that Rooney’s calls for stability at Goodison Park may not actually favour him if the Toffees board do listen to them, as if Allardyce remains in charge, he may be forced to look for another new club.
