Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Marcus Rashford on scoring for England.

Rashford made his debut for England against Australia at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on Friday evening.

The 18-year-old United forward started the friendly international match and played for 63 minutes, as the Three Lions won 2-1.

The talented teenager took just three minutes to score for England on his debut, making history by becoming the youngest player to do so.

Rooney, who came on as a substitute for England at the start of the second half, has congratulated Rashford on his achievement while also expressing his delight at playing for his country.

Rashford has also revelled in his goal and win for England against Australia on Twitter.

Rashford had a good end to the 2015-16 campaign for United and could now play for England at the Euro 2016 finals in France in the summer.

The youngster scored five goals and created six chances in 11 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils during the 2015-16 campaign.
