Wayne Rooney has said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:24pm, April 4, 2022) that he does not think that West Ham United will be able to challenge Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for the Premier League top four this season.

The Derby County manager has said that despite Arsenal slipping up against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in London on Monday night, he does not see West Ham, Manchester United or Wolverhampton Wanderers catching the Gunners or Tottenham.

The former Manchester United and Everton star believes that the fourth and final Champions League spot will go to either Tottenham or Arsenal, not West Ham.

Rooney said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:24pm, April 4, 2022) when asked if West Ham, Manchester United or Wolves could now end up fourth: “I don’t think so. I think it’s Arsenal or Tottenham. It’s between the two of them.”

Could West Ham make a late move?

In our opinion, Arsenal and Tottenham are the two top favourites for the fourth spot in the Premier League table, but you just never know with West Ham.

Arsenal were on a high before they lost to Palace, and they were thoroughly beaten.

Tottenham are on a roll, but Antonio Conte’s side have shown in the past that they are vulnerable.

Now, of course, West Ham will have to continue to win their matches if they are to end up in the top four, but there are still a fair few games left to be played.

The Hammers are only three points behind Arsenal and Tottenham, although the North London clubs have games in hand.
