Manchester United striker a big fan of former teammate Danny Welbeck.
Wayne Rooney is looking forward to getting game time in this month, and has a chance to play alongside his former teammate.
The Manchester United striker will be re-united with new Arsenal signing Danny Welbeck when England take on San Marino, and both players have a considerable chance to add to their individual goal tallies.
Rooney is clearly a big fan of Welbeck, who retains his place in the side after a brace against Switzerland last month and Daniel Sturridge remaining out injured.
“Danny’s a fantastic footballer. He never gets the credit he deserves.”
“You will see as he plays week in, week out for Arsenal that he’ll prove what a good footballer he is.’’
It must still be strange for Rooney to see Welbeck playing for the North London side, having played alongside him for United for several seasons.
His partnership with the 23-year-old can still flourish, and perhaps become even better than it ever was at the Red Devils due to the regular football Welbeck is getting at Arsenal in his preferred position.
