The Black Cats ace is likely to be out for the remainder of the League One season.

Sunderland manager Jack Ross has stated that Duncan Watmore is likely to miss the rest of the League One season due to an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old sustained ligament damage following a challenge by Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Marcus Bean in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Adams Park.
Watmore had scored the Black Cats’ equaliser in the 94th minute of the game but was fouled by Bean – who was sent off for receiving a second yellow card – 10 minutes into added time in Buckinghamshire.
The forward had not long made his return after 13 months out with a cruciate knee ligament injury, just six games into his comeback from a previous 10-month spell on the sidelines, and Ross couldn’t help but bemoan the disappointing news.
“The likelihood is that Duncan will miss the rest of the season,” the manager told the official Sunderland website, giving an estimated sideline time of eight to 12 weeks.
“It is incredibly disappointing for him because of what he has been through. The positive thing is that it’s nothing to do with his knee. His knee is in great shape and has been for a while now so that’s a confidence boost for him.”
Following the news, which was shared by the Wearside outfit’s official Twitter account, some Sunderland fans responded:
Watmore has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Sunderland this season, scoring two goals and registering one assist, while his overall Black Cats tally stands at 65 senior appearances, including six goals and eight assists (Transfermarkt).
