Norwich City fought off competition from a number of clubs – including, allegedly, Wolverhampton Wanderers – to sign Marley Watkins last summer.
The Welshman registered 10 goals and nine assists for Barnsley last season – his first at Championship level.
His move to Norwich has no gone quite to plan, however. Until Wednesday, Watkins had only made nine league starts for his new employers and none since December 30th.

But a lifeline arrived at Molineux, where the 27-year-old was given 83 minutes to impress against the Championship’s runaway leaders, before being replaced by Onel Hernandez.
