The immersive football management simulator is known for its attention to detail, and even has a Brexit feature this year. Each player on the game is rated out of 20 for physical, mental and technical attributes; so let’s take a look what Watford’s best XI is according to FM17.
Heurelho Gomes easily beats out Costel Pantilimon as Watford’s highest rated keeper. The Brazilian stopper’s has been given an 18 for his incredible reflexes; while the discrepancy in his distribution is reflected with a rating of 19 for throwing and just 6 for kicking.
Miguel Britos, Craig Cathcart and Younes Kaboul make up Watford’s back three. Those who elect to play as the Hornets on FM17 will have to manage Kaboul’s fitness carefully, as he has been given 18 for injury proneness. Britos is Watford’s best central defender on the game – rating highest for his anticipation.
Wingback’s Daryl Janmaat and Jose Holebas will offer plenty of energy out wide, with work rates of 15 and 16, respectively. However, Janmaat may have trouble with his aggression (15) and Holebas with his lack of concentration (9).
Watford’s best midfield three on FM17 is Ben Watson, Etienne Capoue and Robert Pereyra. Capoue’s highest rated attributes are his stamina and anticipation (17) but those managing Watford would be advised to restrict his long-range efforts, as he is only a 7 for long shots.
Pereyra is the Hornets highest rated player on the game. The Argentine has been given 18 for versatility, as well as, 16 for technique, movement and dribbling.
Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo are Watford’s best front pairing. Watford’s captain has full marks for his leadership, and 18 for strength and work rate. Ighalo adds a clinical touch to the team with 16 for finishing and composure.
