The Sheffield Wednesday talisman would be a great fit for his former employers Watford.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri celebrates after scoring their first goal
Social media was whipped into a frenzy recently after Sheffield Wednesday star man Fernando Forestieri gleefully posted on his Instagram story a picture of him shopping in Watford, as reported by the Hertfordshire Mercury, which sparked rumours of a possible return to Vicarage Road for the forward.
The 27-year-old signed from Watford in 2015 and has since scored 27 goals in 72 games for the Owls as an attacking midfielder or wideman, but following Marco Silva’s arrival as manager of the Hornets, Forestieri should fit right in with he style of play the former Hull City manager is looking to bring.
It’s clear that Forestieri still has a lot of affection for Watford as a place, and the Hornets’ fanbase also still find the forward a popular figure, so any move would not only be a crowd pleaser, but it would also be a big boost to the team.
Forestieri has proved with Wednesday over the last two seasons that he’s ready for the top flight, and at 27, he’s coming into his peak as a player – meaning a move now for the Argentine born player would see Watford get his best years in the Premier League.

The move would surely go down well with the remaining Watford players who played with Forestieri in his first spell, having seen him grow with The Owls.
While Wednesday would be gutted to lose him, if an eight figure bid for Forestieri’s services came in, they may find it difficult to reject, and could put the money to good use – while Watford would be making a win-win signing on every front.
