Gaston Pereiro is expected to leave PSV Eindhoven this summer with Premier League Watford and Serie A giants AC Milan reportedly interested.

Watford have contacted the agent of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Gaston Pereiro, according to Eindhoven Dagblad.

Javi Gracia’s side are coming off the back of a hugely impressive 2018/19 campaign which should not be overshadowed by that 6-0 thrashing by Manchester City in the FA Cup final last month.

Watford arguably boast their most impressive squad of the Premier League era right now with the likes of Gerard Deulofeu, Roberto Pereyra and Abdoulaye Doucoure producing stand out performances under the former Malaga and Rubin Kazan coach.

And a club who deserve so much credit for their superb scouting department are apparently planning another high-profile transfer coup.

The Eindhoven Dagblad claims that PSV are willing to sell Pereiro this summer and Watford are interested in a winger-turned-playmaker who produced 11 goals and eight assists in 2018/19 for Mark Van Bommel’s side.

Watford have even contacted Pereiro’s agent.

The 24-year-old hit double figures in each of his four seasons at PSV and has even notched four goals in nine games for the Uruguayan national team.

And considering that AC Milan are also interested in a player who is valued at around £18 million (Di Marzio), a deal would look hugely impressive on Watford’s behalf.
