Liverpool continue to be linked with Watford winger Ismaila Sarr – but he has refuted claims from his agent about a summer exit.
The Reds signed a winger in January by securing Luis Diaz from Porto but continue to be linked with other options.
After all, both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are currently set to leave on free transfers at the end of next season.
Reports from Calciomercato in recent days suggested that Sarr is on Liverpool’s wish list but Newcastle United are also keen.
That report notes that Watford would be looking to demand up to €50million (£42million) for Sarr at the end of the season.
Agent Thierno Seydi then noted to APS that Watford have agreed to sell Sarr this summer for the right price.
Seydi noted a ‘good exit plan’ with Sarr allegedly set to leave as Watford face up to the likelihood of dropping into the Championship.
That left many wondering whether the Senegal international could follow in Mane’s footsteps by featuring for Metz and Senegal before ending up at Liverpool.
However, Sarr has today issues a strong response to those agent claims after Watford’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds United.
Sarr has taken to Instagram to state that he is not committed to any agent and and remains focused on Watford’s Premier League survival hopes.
Sarr wants to honour his Watford contract and stay concentrated on their hopes rather than any summer transfer.
It looks unlikely that Watford will stay up and Sarr has more than proven himself in the Championship before; he won’t want to play there again.
Sarr may be focused on Watford but we would absolutely expect him to move on this summer if the Hornets do go down.
Yet a move to Liverpool just doesn’t sound likely given Diaz’s arrival, and Newcastle may actually be the bigger threat in this transfer race.
