Hibs defender Josh Doig could be set for a move to Premier League newboys Watford, according to a report, after the clubs opened talks over a £4million for the left-back.
According to the Watford Observer, Doig could be signed to push Adam Masina for a place in the starting XI after an impressive season for Jack Ross’ side saw him linked with Arsenal.
The Scotland youth international has made 34 appearances this season for Hibs as they secured third place in the Scottish Premiership and a place in this weekend’s Scottish Cup final against St. Johnstone.
His performances have caught the eye as he kept Hibs icon Lewis Stevenson out the side and earned praise from Rangers manager Steven Gerrard after a fascinating battle with Nathan Patterson earlier in the campaign.
The Hornets seem to have turned their eye north of the border for their early transfer business after reportedly bidding for Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson.
A fee around £4million seems a good price for the young defender who looks to have a huge future ahead of him.

Moving to the Premier League could see him come up against his hero Kieran Tierney and Scotland captain Andy Robertson, both of whom also play at left-back.
