Tottenham Hotspur have landed one midfielder this summer in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but could still look to add one more.

Jose Mourinho isn’t particularly short of options there; he has new boy Hojbjerg along with Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

Yet if he wants another versatile midfield player who can get stuck in, offer ability on the ball and knows the Premier League, then the latest player linked with Spurs fits the bill.

The Mirror reported on Saturday that Tottenham boss Mourinho wants to sign Watford’s Will Hughes, following his relegation from the Premier League.

It’s stated that Hughes is valued at just £13million, and Spurs are hoping to bring him in for a knockdown price as they seek to take advantage of Watford’s drop.

The 25-year-old registered just one goal and one assist last season, but seemingly did enough to impress Mourinho.

Hughes can provide depth out wide and in midfield, whilst bringing Premier League experience just like other signings Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty.

Watford fans have been reacting to the rumours, suggesting that it’s ‘typical Spurs’ to think they can get a player like Hughes on the cheap.

Many believe that £13million simply isn’t enough for a player of Hughes’ quality and believe the club should charge at least £25million for him.
