Watford fans have take to social media platform Twitter to express their delight at the signing of Dutch international full-back Daryl Janmaat, who completed a move to Vicarage Road from Newcastle United on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Hornets and becomes boss Walter Mazzarri’s eighth signing at the club since his arrival at the beginning of the season.
Despite being part of Newcastle United’s relegation season last term, Janmaat brings with him a decent international pedigree having notched up 27 caps for his country, including five outings at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
His future at St James’ Park was the subject of speculation since Newcastle’s fall into the Championship was confirmed, with reports earlier in the summer suggesting he was being lined up for a move to West Ham United.

However, Watford have stolen a march on their rivals by securing his signature, as they look to build on last season’s solid 13th-place finish, much to the delight of their fans, who took to social media to welcome their new signing to the club.
A tweet from Opta shortly after Janmaat’s arrival in Hertfordshire perhaps goes some way to explaining why Watford fans are so happy about the news.
