Leeds United’s under-23 side continued their strong form this week with a 3-0 victory over Watford.

Izzy Brown, Pascal Struijk and Kun Temenuzhkov scored the goals for Leeds.

Watford coach Hayden Mullins praised the talent Leeds had, adding that they were a class apart.

He told Watford’s official website: “They are a good side and this is a massive learning period for us.

“We haven’t got a team or pros – we’ve got a team of scholars and trialists.

“We’ve have got a young side and they have come up against some good players. Tom Leighton has come up against Izzy Brown, the right back and the no. 10 have been involved with the first team.”

Leeds Uniteds Izzy Brown warms up during the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough and Leeds United at Riverside Stadium on February 9, 2019 in Middlesbrough, England.

The two players Mullins praised in addition to Brown were the versatile Jamie Shackleton and new signing Mateusz Bogusz.

Bogusz was excellent against Watford, and nearly got on the scoresheet himself.

His performance was really encouraging, and like Shackleton and Brown, he could soon be pushing for first team involvement.
