Arsenal have been linked with Uzbekistan midfielder Odil Ahmedov.
So who exactly is he?
Ahmedov has played for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala since 2011, alongside Christopher Samba, Yuri Zhirkhov and Samuel Eto’o.
The club’s coaching staff include Guus Hiddink and Roberto Carlos, and one of their key players is little known Odil Ahmedov.
Ahmedov has been described as an ‘enforcer’ type midfielder, who would present Arsenal with an alternative to Yann M’Vila who they have been pursuing for several months without resolution.
He is an international for Uzbekistan, and he has made more than 40 appearances for his country, scoring seven goals along the way.
He issued a clear ‘come and get me’ plea to Arsene Wenger this week, stating he would love to play for Arsenal.
He would become the Premier League’s first Uzbek player, and he is his nation’s captain.
Ahmedov has a thunderbolt of a shot too, you can see just how in this video below, where he scores a real cracker for his country.
Would you like to see Arsenal gamble on a player like Ahmedov?
