Tottenham Hotspur star Rodrigo Bentancur has praised Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min. The midfielder lauds his teammates’ ability to decide games ‘at any time’.

Bentancur and Kulusevski headed for north London from Juventus together in the January transfer window this year. Spurs boss Antonio Conte and managing director Fabio Paratici returned to raid their former Serie A team to secure a double deal as the deadline neared.

The Bianconeri agreed to sell Bentancur to Tottenham for an upfront £16m, with a further £5m on offer with add-ons. While Kulusevski joined on an 18-month loan for £8.5m with a £29m option to buy. Both now hold key roles in Conte’s plans in the league and in Europe.

Bentancur has started 18 of his 20 appearances across all competitions this season ahead of Tottenham hosting Leeds United on Saturday afternoon. Kulusevski has also opened six of his 11 outings, having sat out 10 matches after the forward suffered a hamstring injury.

Kulusevski returned from his issue at home to Liverpool last Sunday and found Kane to get Tottenham back within a goal. The attempt marked Kane’s 11th goal in 14 Premier League games and 12th in 21 in all competitions. But it could not help Spurs prevent a 2-1 defeat.

Kane turning the 22-year-old’s pass home past Alisson Becker moved Kulusevski on to four assists for the season. The striker has also created three, while Son has two assists and five goals in 19 games. But the South Korea star hit each of his league goals in one appearance.

Bentancur claims Kane, Son and Kulusevski can win Tottenham games ‘at any time’

Despite Son starting the season slowly and scoring each of his three Premier League goals for the campaign against Leicester City, the 30-year-old has left a glowing impression on Bentancur. As have Kane and the Uruguayan’s former Juventus teammate, Kulusevski.

Bentancur has praised Kane, Son and Kulusevski’s ability to influence games at the highest level for Tottenham while speaking with Tuttosport, via quotes by Calciomercato. He listed the trio as stars AC Milan must watch out for after drawing them in the Champions League.

“In the Champions League we will face Milan, a club that is returning to high levels,” said Bentancur. “It will be a challenge that will be decided in midfield: they have great players.

“But in Europe, second balls are fundamental. Watch out for Kulusevski, Kane and Son – they can solve a game at any time.”

Tottenham will go to the San Siro on February 14, 2023, for the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie with AC Milan. The Rossoneri then travel to north London for the reverse fixture on March 8. Spurs are the seeded side after topping Group D to Eintracht Frankfurt.
