Lukas Podolski scored his first goals for the Gunners this weekend.
When Lukas Podolski left Cologne in May it wasn’t under the happiest of circumstances, with his German side suffering relegation from the Bundesliga.
When he headed back there yesterday he would have at least left in a more satisfied mood, bagging two goals for Arsenal in their 4-0 victory.
The £11 million signing was making his first pre-season start for Arsenal, and left wantaway substitute Robin van Persie firmly in the shade.
He scored two goals in the 4-0 victory, with Vermaelen and Gervinho also netting. The first goal of the German’s brace was a penalty, and the second a clinical finish after a ball into the box by Kieran Gibbs.
