Lauded by the BT Sport commentary team as ‘one of the greatest’ signings Napoli have made in recent memory, there’s good reason why Kvaratskhelia’s stock has increased tenfold since joining the Italian giants this summer, with transfer interest rising with each new week for the 22-year-old.
Journalist Graeme Bailey recently reported that both Newcastle and City are interested in signing the Georgian international this summer, a move that Napoli could fight tooth and nail to stop happening given just how incredible the attacker has been this season.
Indeed, Kvaratskhelia’s stunning strike against Atalanta was the winger’s 12th in all competitions, with the Napoli star also bagging 15 assists in what has been one of the best breakout years from any player in recent memory, with this latest goal arguably his best yet.
Beating three players with one flick and then making a mockery of a keeper as good as Gollini takes some skill from any forward, yet Kvaratskhelia managed just that this weekend against Atalanta, with Napoli now storming to their first Serie A title this century.
It might take some financial effort from Newcastle and City to sign Kvaratskhelia this summer, but if the winger can produce moments like that in the Premier League, then the youngster could be worth every penny for the English duo in the transfer window.
