A Fabio Vieira injury has meant that Arsenal supporters have had to wait to see their new player.

The Gunners spent some £34 million on signing the former Porto playmaker earlier this summer but he hasn’t been involved in either of their Premier League victories thus far.

However, the 22-year-old made his comeback in an Under-21 outing for Arsenal during the week and there’s been suggestions that he could be named in the squad for this evening’s visit to Bournemouth.

It’s extremely encouraging for the North Londoners that they’ve won their opening two Premier League fixtures without even needing Vieira.

And Kevin Campbell believes that this is a player who the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli are going to adore playing alongside, due to the Portuguese maestro’s creativity and vision.

He told Highbury Squad on YouTube: “I tell you this much: if he comes on the pitch on Saturday, watch Jesus. You watch Martinelli. They’re going to get their skates on because this guy can pick a pass from deep, in and around the box.

“He’s another creative player who’s happy to shoot or happy to slide somebody in. As a striker when you’re playing with a player like that, you don’t get tired because you know they’re going to find you.”

It’s very unlikely that Vieira – who’s also been spotted in Arsenal training this week – is going to start against the Cherries, due to how excellent Mikel Arteta’s side have been playing this season.

What Arteta – who praised him on Friday – missed last season was a game-changing quality off the bench, however, and if the Londoners need a goal tonight, maybe the Spanish manager will be tempted to unleash him.
