The Colombian has been a revelation since arriving at the club from Ajax in the summer.
Alexandre Lacazette of Arsenal is challenged by Davinson Sanchez of Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur picked up an impressive win against their North London rivals Arsenal this afternoon, winning 1-0 in a game they could have scored five or six.
Tottenham’s attacking talents got plenty of plaudits for the performance but it was the display from a summer signing at Spurs which also caught the eye.
Did Spurs make the best signing of the summer with the arrival of Davinson Sanchez?
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal and Davinson Sanchez of Tottenham Hotspur
The Colombian, who was unknown to many, became the club’s record transfer when Tottenham spent a fee reported by the BBC to be in the region of £42 million.
It was a huge sum of money for the young defender, who has only a handful of experience of European footballing experience with previous club Ajax.
But so far he has shown that he is up to the price-tag.
He has been brilliant as part of Tottenham’s defence this season, either in a two or three, and against Arsenal it was no different.

Up against the pacey Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang he had a tough task on his hands but he handled the Gabon striker with ease.
At times, it looked almost too easy for the Colombian defender as he casually breezed around the Wembley pitch like he was playing a park game with his friends.
There are plenty of candidates for top summer signing in the Premier League, with Mo Salah and Ederson certainly in contention. But it would be easy to argue Tottenham’s defender is the man who tops the list.
