Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has hit back over claims that his side have an advantage heading into their clash with Arsenal on Sunday, as he told Football London.

Over a week ago, Mikel Arteta stated that Tottenham have an ‘advantage’ in the North London derby after their Europa League clash on Thursday was moved to London, whilst they have to travel to Greece, as posted by Goal.

Spurs are taking on Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow night, whilst their rivals will be locking horns with familiar foes in Olympiacos.

But Mourinho made it clear that when Tottenham and Arsenal last clashed in December, his side arrived back ‘late’ from their Europa League tie, whilst the Gunners were playing at home.

And, in his own typical fashion, he questioned whether, at that time, it was ‘advantage Arsenal’.

“On December 6th we played Arsenal in our stadium,” said Mourinho

“On December 3rd they played at home against Rapid Vienna. At the same time, we were playing in the ice in Linz with a late flight back. Was that an advantage to Arsenal?”

These next 10 or so days are sure to be lively in North London because a lot is on the line.

Both Spurs and Arsenal have crucial Europa League matches, plus their own showdown on Sunday.

You don’t want to be the team who gets knocked out of Europe, and in between, loses the bragging rights of North London.

It won’t be pleasant for the managers or the players if that happens, that’s for sure.
