Joe Rodon has been flourishing away from Tottenham Hotspur at Leeds United, but the defender did not have the best of times against Leicester City at Elland Road.
Tottenham Hotspur signed Joe Rodon from Swansea City in the summer of 2020 for £11 million (The London Evening Standard).
Tottenham Hotspur-owned Joe Rodon starring for Leeds United
Rodon did well during his time at Swansea in the Championship, but the 26-year-old centre-back failed to make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The defender had a loan spell at Rennes last season, and then in the summer of 2023, Spurs decided to send him out on loan to Leeds United.

Rodon is flourishing at Leeds. Under head coach Daniel Farke, the defender has gone from strength to strength and is one of the first names on the teamsheet.
As expected, Rodon started for Leeds against Leicester City at Elland Road in the Championship on Friday evening.
Media ratings
Farke deployed the Welshman in central defence. Leeds won the match 3-1, but, as you can see below, the local media noted that Rodon was not at his best.
LeedsLive marked Rodon 6 out of 10 and noted: “By far his most difficult performance of the season. Leicester, for obvious reasons, were always going to ask more questions than anyone else and Rodon was on the rack for much of the evening. Not all his own doing as he had to cover a lot, but calmness on and off the ball wasn’t there.”
The Yorkshire Evening Post gave Rodon 7 out of 10 and said: “A couple of difficult moments in the first half, walked a tightrope on the yellow but stuck to his task and made some big aerial challenges.”
Against Leicester, Rodon had a pass accuracy of 86.8%, took 93 touches, and made two interceptions and four clearances.
Leeds are second in the Championship table at the moment with 72 points from 34 matches, six points behind leaders Leicester.
Rodon has made 30 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Leeds this season. He has also played three times in the FA Cup for the Whites.
