Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Club provided supporters with an update on the hunt for a new manager.
What’s the story?
Well, Steven Gerrard left Ibrox for Aston Villa on Thursday, and Rangers seem no closer to hiring his replacement.
The update in question, which has frustrated fans, revealed that Jermain Defoe, Colin Stewart, Brian Gilmour and David McCallum will lead the first-team during the search.
As one supporter below stated, it doesn’t feel like an appointment is close if the Gers feel the need to share this information.
If this makeshift coaching set-up was only going to be in place for a day or two, you wouldn’t feel as if Rangers need to announce it.
Now, all that has come from the update is a sense of panic from the Ibrox faithful, with some fearful that the quartet will lead Rangers into their Scottish League Cup semi-final clash with Hibernian on Sunday.
What’s the latest with Rangers in their manager hunt?

Well, The Times believe Giovanni van Bronckhorst could become the new Rangers manager, with Billy Dodd joining the Dutchman’s coaching staff.
Rangers have already spoken to Van Bronckhorst, and are believed to be close to hiring the 46-year-old as Gerrard’s replacement.
The Times add that other candidates have been told Van Bronckhorst is the No.1 choice, although he wants assurances over transfer funds.

Rangers would like the Dutchman to have someone who knows Scottish football well among his coaching staff.
Keep an eye on this saga. All signs are pointing to Van Bronckhorst, although some fans feel an announcement is by no means close after the club’s update.
