Warren Barton has taken to Twitter to react after Sky Sports revealed that Steve Bruce and the Newcastle players were given a day off today.
What’s the story?
Well, Barton expressed his anger with a three-word message, after hearing the update from Keith Downie.
The main focus of the update was that a day off gives Amanda Staveley and co. some ‘space’ to make a decision on Bruce’s future.
You can see Barton’s tweet below.
The 52-year-old posted another tweet in frustration, saying the team of his era would be training on the Thursday ahead of a big game on Sunday.
We cannot share it as expletives are used, although Barton adds that Bobby Robson would never have done such a thing during his time as manager.
Should Newcastle sack Steve Bruce?

From our point of view, we cannot believe some people are defending Bruce and claiming it would be harsh of the new owners to sack him.
With or without new ownership, the 60-year-old should’ve been sacked from his role at Newcastle a long time ago.
The Magpies are winless after seven Premier League games, and find themselves 19th in the table – that isn’t it, however.

It comes after Newcastle just scraped Premier League survival last season as well – Bruce has been doing the bare minimum on Tyneside.
That was perfectly acceptable under Mike Ashley, who was fine with mediocrity, although that doesn’t mean Bruce deserves to keep his job.
In our view, we’re surprised he hasn’t already been sacked.
All the time Bruce remains in the dugout, PIF are just delaying the inevitable.
