Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend has been linked with a move to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
Former Derby County and Queens Park Rangers defender Warren Barton has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to speculation surrounding the future of Andros Townsend.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are interested in signing Townsend from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.
Townsend joined Palace from Newcastle in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £13 million.
Former Newcastle defender Barton has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the speculation, suggesting that Townsend would be a good signing for Rafael Benitez’s side.


Townsend has scored one goal and created 24 chances in 21 Premier League appearances for Palace so far this season.
The Eagles are third from bottom in the league table at the moment with 16 points from 22 matches and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Newcastle currently find themselves at the top of the Championship table with 58 points from 27 matches, just two points behind leaders Brighton & Hove Albion.
