Newcastle United maintained their good run of form this weekend, as they got the better of Leicester City 2-1 away from home at the King Power Stadium om the Premier League.

It was Newcastle’s third successive win in the Premier League following victories over Southampton and Huddersfield Town at St. James’ Park.

The win against the Foxes means that Rafael Benitez’s side are now 10th in the Premier League table with 38 points from 32 matches.

Newcastle are as many as 10 points clear of the relegation zone at the moment, and it looks as though they will remain in the Premier League for one more season at least.

Former Newcastle duo Alan Shearer and Steve Howey have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the win for the Magpies.

Meanwhile, former Newcastle defender Warren Barton, who now works as a pundit for Fox Sports, has suggested on Twitter that Benitez should get the Manager of the Year award, and one suspects that most, if not all, fans of the Magpies will agree.
