Cardiff City are attempting to re-sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.
Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has told Wales Online that he won’t wait forever in the club’s pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.
The Bluebirds are looking to defy the odds and stay in the Premier League this coming season, having clinched automatic promotion from the Championship last term.
Warnock has so far dipped into the Championship market, signing Alex Smithies, Greg Cunningham and Bobby Reid from Queens Park Rangers, Preston North End and Bristol City respectively.
Warnock will be keen on more additions yet, and one deal being chased by Cardiff is another loan move for Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic, who spent the second half of last season with the Bluebirds.
Grujic, 22, signed for Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade in 2016, but has made just 14 first-team appearances for the Reds, and was subsequently sent to South Wales in January.
The Serbian hit one goal in 13 games, and The Sun reported on Sunday that Cardiff have agreed a season-long loan deal to bring Grujic back to the club for the Premier League campaign.
However, Cardiff boss Warnock has told Wales Online that there is actually no progress on a move, and feels that the player’s agent is attempting to make more money in a deal elsewhere.
Warnock did state that Liverpool want to send him to Cardiff, but he warned that he won’t wait forever, threatening to walk away from a deal if it isn’t done soon.
“No updates (on Grujic), not really,” said Warnock. “I think his agent – as they do – thinks he can try and make more money somewhere else but Liverpool want him to come and I think it’ll be good for him. We’ll have to see how it develops. But we won’t wait forever,” he added.
