Speaking on The Red Agenda Podcast, Stephen Warnock has been discussing Trent Alexander-Arnold and his incredible mentality.
Alexander-Arnold is one of the best full-backs in the country at the age of just 23, and he’s hit these heights while playing for his boyhood club.
Warnock says that expectation is so much higher for these local lads who come through the academy – and he should know being a Liverpool academy graduate from the north west, but he claims that Trent is thriving off of that pressure.
What’s been said?
Warnock gave his view on Alexander-Arnold.
“Look at Trent, you run out of things to say at times about how good he is. The difference of what he can bring to Robertson, his long-distance passing is probably better and his crossing ability is phenomenal. Being a local lad and a supporter, that weight of expectation to play for Liverpool is very difficult, but he embraces it and thrives off of it,” Warnock said.

Loves it
Warnock is absolutely right about Alexander-Arnold, he thrives off of the pressure of playing in front of a packed out Anfield for his boyhood club.
Think about it, the stakes are so much higher for Alexander-Arnold when it comes to making sure Liverpool are successful. Of course, every footballer wants to win every game, but for Alexander-Arnold every single result will affect his friends and family as many of them are real Reds supporters.
You can tell just how much Alexander-Arnold loves to send the supporters home happy, and more often than not, this Liverpool team makes sure everyone in the city of Liverpool has something to smile about – well, except for Evertonians of course.
