Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Ryan Sessegnon.

Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with Fulham ace Ryan Sessegnon, with ESPN reporting they have stepped up their interest.

Sessegnon broke into the Fulham first team at just 16 last season and made an immediate impact, even scoring twice in a win over Newcastle.

The problem is Fulham want a staggering £50 million for a player tipped as the next Gareth Bale.

Sessegnon has been a regular for Fulham this season, but he is far from the finished player, perhaps as you would expect of a teenager.

This season Sessegnon has lost possession a staggering 232 times in 11 games. This is the second highest in the Championship.

Much of this can be attributed to Sessegnon’s low crossing success rate.

He has managed to find a teammate with just 15 per cent of his crosses, which is below the Championship average of 23 per cent.

Perhaps at Tottenham he would enjoy more success with better players and smarter movement inside the box, but it could give the North London side pause for thought.

£50 million is a staggering amount to spend on a young player. If Tottenham can get him for much less than it will be a shrewd deal, but right now they are smart to explore further options.
