Rangers youngster Billy Gilmour is reportedly wanted by a number of clubs, including Arsenal, Everton, Manchester United, Southampton and Tottenham.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told a press conference, as seen on the club’s official YouTube channel that he and the club must convince Billy Gilmour to stay at Ibrox.
Whilst the Gers enjoyed a superb 3-0 victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday, much of the talk surrounding the club this week has been about teenager Gilmour.
The 15-year-old talent featured for Scotland against Northern Ireland in the Victory Shield on Sunday afternoon, and his performance in Scotland’s 2-0 victory has caught the attention of many.

Not only did an unnamed coach tell the Daily Record that Gilmour is destined to make his Rangers debut within two years as he makes his way up through the ranks at Ibrox, but reports suggest that there is huge interest in his signature.
The Daily Record reported earlier today that seven Premier League clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur – are all looking to prise Gilmour away from Glasgow.

Having seen young talents like John Fleck, Dylan McGeouch and Charlie Telfer leave the club in recent years, Rangers won’t want to see Gilmour walk away – and manager Mark Warburton has now had his say.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, as seen on the club’s official YouTube channel, Warburton admitted that he thinks Gilmour could become an outstanding talent for Rangers.
When asked about the interest from English clubs, Warburton suggested Rangers must convince Gilmour – and any other player – that Ibrox is the best player for them to develop, rather than leaving for an English club.

“Billy Gilmour is a product of the academy, and the academy work so, so hard,” said Warburton. “I was at the Hall of Fame dinner and I heard Hugh McIlvanney speak about the need to produce two, three or four outstanding young talents, and I think Billy Gilmour could well be one of those such talents.”
“The English clubs and their scouting networks are such that they know all the players in Europe, basically, so there’s no secrets there. As always, with all the players, you have to showcase the benefits of staying with a club like Glasgow Rangers,” he added.
