Everton have reportedly had a number of bids rejected for Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson, but remain in talks.

According to The Telegraph, Everton remain in talks with Nottingham Forest over a deal for Brennan Johnson after having a number of bids rejected, with the Championship club demanding £1million.
The Toffees may have splashed out on the likes of Ashley Williams, Morgan Schneiderlin and Yannick Bolasie, but there is also a focus being placed on developing young players at Goodison Park.
Not only has Tom Davies stepped up into the first team from the academy, but youngster brought in from Football League clubs – such as Mason Holgate, Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have all featured in the Premier League this term.
Now, Everton are looking to add to their youth ranks again, with The Telegraph reporting that they have failed with a number of bids for Nottingham Forest youngster Brennan Johnson – and may have to pay up £1million for him.
Johnson, 15, is the son of former Forest striker David Johnson, and Everton are seemingly desperate to land the midfielder having made so many offers, and Director of Football Steve Walsh is allegedly set to enter negotiations.
The teenager looks set to have a bright future ahead of him, and Everton may end up having to go to a tribunal to land him unless they can finally agree a deal with Forest.

The Forest academy has been producing impressive players for a number of years now, but having lost Karl Darlow, Jamaal Lascelles and Oliver Burke in recent times, they won’t want to lose Johnson, or the likes of Joe Worrall, Ben Osborn, Matty Cash and Ben Brereton.
His exit would be an early blow for new manager Mark Warburton, who has placed an emphasis on youth development throughout his time in coaching, and may well have seen Johnson as a possible first-team player in the next three years.
