Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur played out a thriller at Anfield in the Premier League, with a flurry of late goals resulting in a 2-2 draw.
Mohamed Salah gave the hosts a third minute lead, but Victor Wanyama equalised in the 80th minute before Salah put the Reds ahead again and Harry Kane saved a point with a penalty with the last kick of the game.

Despite all the late drama it was the Wanyama strike – a terrific one from 25 yards – that suggests that an unwanted statistic for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino could soon come to an end.
In the 198 matches since Pochettino was appointed as boss, only twice has one of his substitutes scored a winner; with Heung-min Son the last to do so against Watford back on 28 December, 2015.

Since then Tottenham have played 112 times without someone coming off the bench to win the game, but Wanyama was a substitute on Merseyside and although didn’t seal victory, did play a crucial role in the North Londoners going away with a point.
Pochettino has been widely praised and rightly so for his work at Spurs, but the Argentine could do with this stat ending and proving that his team have much more beyond the 11 players that start a match.
