Tottenham will be without Victor Wanyama for Saturday’s clash against Stoke City.

Victor Wanyama has told African website Soka 25 East that he is “almost back” from injury after first suffering a knee problem for Tottenham Hotspur back in August.
The Kenya captain has since been sidelined with the problem after suffering the injury against Chelsea during Spurs’ 2-1 defeat at Wembley, but is now in line for a return in the near future.
Spurs have missed the 26-year-old in the middle of the park, with Belgium international Mousa Dembele also spending time on the sidelines while Eric Dier’s performances have been the subject of criticism from some fans.

The former Southampton and Celtic ace is elated to be nearing a return to full fitness after so long on the sidelines, stating that he has been “counting down the days” until he returns.
“I feel so, so fine and on the road to full fitness. I am almost back and it’s exciting after missing most of the season,” Wanyama said.
“As a footballer an injury is always a low moment but I am glad its now behind me and just counting the days. I have really missed playing competitive football.”

Although he is unlikely to return on Saturday against Stoke City, Wanyama could take part in Spurs’ busy festive period that sees them go up against the likes of Burnley, Southampton and Swansea City.
Tottenham play host to Stoke at Wembley and will take positives from their recent history against the Staffordshire-based side, which has seen them win their last three matches against the Potters – all with the same scoreline of 4-0.
