Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester City yesterday, and in doing so, made a statement of their Premier League intent.

Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama has explained how he believes his side can beat anyone this season, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
Spurs produced a magnificent display yesterday as they swept aside league leaders Manchester City in what was an enthralling contest.
Wanyama was signed by Mauricio Pochettino in June of this year, for a fee believed to be in the region of £11 million, and he has already shown what a bargain that could prove to be with a succession of impressive displays.

The 25-year-old Kenyan spoke to reporters after the game, and explained how his Spurs side feel confident of beating any opposition they face at the moment, as quoted by the Evening Standard:
“We know we can beat any team. If we continue playing like this it can take us somewhere good, somewhere better than last season. We had to make sure that we kept a clean sheet, kept focus. It was tough but we always felt that we were strong and we knew we could get something.”

Spurs’ victory over the seemingly invincible Manchester City yesterday was certainly a very important result, and could have a huge bearing on the results for both sides over the next few months, from a psychological aspect at least.
Next up for Pochettino’s men are back-to-back away games against West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth respectively, as they look to continue their fine run of form.
