Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez has offers on the table from Premier League clubs, his agent has told LaRoma24 amid speculation surrounding a move to Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham or Newcastle United.

It’s fair to say this Spanish international shot-stopper has unfinished business in north London.

Three years after Lopez failed to make a single appearance during a rather underwhelming loan-spell in England, Calciomercato reported in June that Spurs would jump at the chance to hand him a second chance.

Though the 2019 Champions League finalists will have to pay £35 million for the privilege.

Whether Daniel Levy is willing to spend big to rectify an expensive Mauricio Pochettino mistake remains to be seen but, if Tottenham cannot afford him, West Ham, Newcastle or Chelsea could be tempted to throw their hat into the ring (Leggo).

“Pau has received offers from Spain and the Premier League,” says agent Albert Botines, before suggesting that Lopez could stick around for another year at the Stadio Olimpico.

“He has four years left on his contract and wants to stay at Roma. There are no negotiations in progress.”

With Lopez just 12 months into his time in the Italian capital, Tottenham supporters should not be holding their breath as they wait for their one-that-got-away to make a dramatic return.

After all, the former Real Betis and Espanyol ace has guaranteed regular first-team football at his disposal in Rome.

A move back to England would see him, not for the first time, stuck behind the evergreen Hugo Lloris in the pecking order.
